Soundstitching Live!

Please join us for a special presentation and discussion inspired by a work in our current exhibition, Skyway: A Contemporary Collaboration.

Discover the sounds and movements of color in an interdisciplinary program inspired by Cassia Kite’s “Pot Luck Dinner at Longboat Key Center for the Arts” (2015). Artist Kite translates color into a series of notes which New Renaissance Artist, Elizabeth A. Baker used as inspiration to create an original musical composition for the dance piece, “Before the Demolition,” choreographed by Kellie Harmon.

The evening will also include the premiere of “Feast,” a solo dance work choreographed and performed by Kellie Harmon with an original score and live accompaniment by Elizabeth A. Baker, featuring an original poem by local poet, Maureen McDole.

The discussion will be moderated by MFA Curator of Contemporary Art, Katherine Pill.
Panelists: Elizabeth A. Baker (New Renaissance Artist), Helen Hansen French (Dancer and Educator), Kellie Harmon (Dancer and Choreographer), and Cassia Kite (Skyway artist)
