Weegee (Arthur Fellig) (American, 1899-1968), Untitled, Gelatin silver print, Gift of Dr. Robert L. and Chitranee Drapkin, 1998.109, ©Weegee

This series of photographs from notorious crime scene photographer Weegee captures the lively and artistic spirit of Greenwich Village in the 1960s, including a shot snapped of the legendary James Dean. The Museum is fortunate to be one of two institutions to possess the entire set. A generous gift of Dr. Robert L. and Chitranee Drapkin, this is the first time these photographs have been exhibited together at the Museum.
