Larsen often finds inspiration in her diverse travels. After a trip to Rajasthan, India in 1995, she incorporated elements of paintings from Udaipur Palace into her work. Many paintings depicting the Palace focus on processions, which take place throughout the large royal complex. Here, we see what appears to be a funerary procession.

This work is one of three religious scenes by Larsen, the others being Nativity (2005), and Resurrection (2006). The hand in the upper right corner is similar to the gesture of benediction seen in many depictions of Christ.
