Behind The Scenes: Antioch Reclaimed

View the MFA’s “paintings in stone” in the Museum’s outdoor conservation lab through November 2018. The multi-phased project that began with the conservation and restoration of the mosaics will culminate in an exhibition, scheduled for 2020. The show will include other mosaics from the 1930s excavation, as well as complementary works that will permit a wide-angled glimpse into ancient Antioch and the eastern Roman Empire: a dynamic crossroads between Greece and Rome, between East and West, and between the pagan and Christian worlds.
Now through November 15, donors who contribute $50 or more will be invited to a behind-the-scenes experience and conversation with Dr. Michael Bennett, Senior Curator of Early Western Art. Each new gift will be worth twice the amount, as every dollar is matched up to $50,000 by an anonymous donor. Donors contributing $10 or more per person receive a unique Antioch button.
All tax-deductible gifts support the Antioch Mosaic Project.
Donations may also be made by calling Mikeesha Means (727) 896-2667 Ext. 231.
