Billy Collins & Bob Morris: In Conversation

The second talk in our In Conversation series is an engaging discussion between former United States Poet Laureate and New York Times best-selling author Billy Collins and New York Times journalist and author Bob Morris. The two will talk about Collins’s latest book, Musical Tables, and his distinct ability to connect with readers. Musical Tables - Billy Collins

Called “America’s Favorite Poet” by the Wall Street Journal and its only bestselling one, Billy Collins is the former Poet Laureate of the United States. He is the author of twelve wry and wise collections, including the bestsellers Aimless Love, The Trouble with Poetry, and Sailing Alone Around the Room. Collins, whose 2012 Ted Talk drew 1.5 million viewers, served as New York State Poet from 2004 to 2006.  In 2016 he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters and his work frequently appears in the New Yorker. He recently moved to Winter Park Florida with his wife, Suzannah.

Bob Morris is the author of Assisted Loving: True Tale of Double Dating with my Dad, Bobby Wonderful, Crispin the Terrible, and The Legs are the Last to Go with the actress Diahann Carroll.  He is also a playwright and frequent contributor to The New York Times Sunday Styles, Arts and Leisure and Op Ed sections.  He has written for the New Yorker, Vogue, New York, the New York Times Magazine, Town and County and other publications as well.
