Book Club at the MFA – milk and honey

Join Keep St. Pete Lit, a local organization that supports the literary community, for a book club connecting the visual and literary arts. Each month’s featured book will relate to the MFA’s collection or special exhibitions.

August 9th: milk and honey by Rupi Kaur

Famed Sikh “instapoet” and provocateur who gained notoriety for her IG-censored “period photo”, Kaur’s introspection and digital leadership is the perfect accompaniment to This Is Not A Selfie. milk and honey is her 2014 debut collection of poetry and prose, which she began writing when she was 18. It is about the experience of violence, abuse, love, loss, and femininity – and ushered in a resurgence of interest in the writing and voices of young women of color.

Second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.
Free with Museum admission, which is only $5 after 5 pm on Thursday.
