Book Reading, Discussion and Signing – Cigar City: Tales from a 1980s Creative Ghetto by Paul Wilborn

Join us for a reading of the new book Cigar City: Tales from a 1980s Creative Ghetto, by Paul Wilborn.

A rollicking, fictionalized account of Ybor City’s artistic past, Cigar City is a delight for both fans of history and a good tale. In connection with the MFA’s special exhibition Theo Wujcik: Cantos, Paul Wilborn will read excerpts of his new book in the exhibition gallery.

Paul Wilborn is considered one of the biggest influencers in Tampa Bay’s creative arts scene. Wilborn’s career started in Tampa, as a writer for the Tampa Tribune.  With hundreds of cultural projects under his belt since his start as a journalist, Wilborn is currently the Executive Director at the Palladium Theatre at St. Petersburg College.  Wilborn works on multiple creative projects simultaneously while running the Palladium Theatre, as an author, musician, and overall advocate for culture.

Paul will be on hand to sign copies of his book  Cigar City: Tales from a 1980s Creative Ghetto after the reading.
