3rd Annual Simmer & Sift: Featuring Callaloo
For the first event of the 2018 Simmer & Sift, we present Callaloo, which highlights the unique tastes and fresh flavors of foods indigenous to Florida and the Caribbean.
Callaloo, located in The Deuces’ historic Manhattan Casino, blends the best of two worlds, showcasing the unique tastes and fresh flavors of foods indigenous to Florida and the Caribbean. Chef Moran is the former Chef d’ Cuisine at the famed Tavern on the Green in New York City. After stints commanding his own kitchen as the executive chef for Datz and The Mermaid Tavern, the award-winning chef opened South Tampa’s highly popular Wimauma restaurant where he continued to explore the rich culinary history of the South, a tradition he has embraced with Callaloo.
Participate in Callaloo’s cooking demonstration and taste culinary masterpieces at the MFA! A signature cocktail is included in your ticket price. (Cash bar is also available.) At the end of the night, you’ll take home a recipe card…and the ability to simmer and sift!
