
Cinema @ the MFA – Ingrid Goes West – Film Screening & Panel Discussion

The film Ingrid Goes West is a dark comedy starring Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen, following a young woman who moves to Los Angeles with the goal of befriending her well-curated Instagram idol. The film premiered in competition at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival winning the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award.
Panel discussion: Following the film, Dr. Kim Golombisky of USF Women and Gender Studies and Andrejka Hirsch of Andrejka Photography and SnapThis! Photo Booth, explore how social identities are built across different media platforms. We will also take a look at how our current culture is so visual, so instant, and so public, allowing us to remaster our own images via social media.
Admission: $5 movie ticket, plus museum admission which is $5 after 5pm for adults. Event is FREE for members.
