Cocktails & Collections

In complement to Syd Solomon: Views from Above, artist and writer Mike Solomon will speak about his father’s artistic practice.  The discussion will begin in the Acheson Gallery at 6pm, in front of Syd Solomon’s Westcoastalscape (1968).

A noted expert on artist’s estates, Mike Solomon is also a practicing artist who has exhibited widely throughout the United States and is preparing for an upcoming solo installation exhibition at the Greenville County Museum, South Carolina in 2019. He has participated in group exhibitions at the Parrish Art Museum, NY; Chelsea Art Museum, NY; Guild Hall Museum, NY; Montclair Art Museum, NJ; Knoxville Museum of Art, TN; and the Telfair Art Museum, GA. Solomon has twice been the recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2001 and 2012. He is represented by Berry Campbell Gallery in New York and Allyn Gallup Contemporary Art in Sarasota, FL, and currently has studios on the North Fork of Long Island and in Sarasota, Florida.
