Coffee Talks with Nan Colton: Berthe Morisot – Giving Thanks

Connect with the arts through monthly performances that give voice and embodiment to the two-dimensional. The MFA’s ever popular artist-in-residence Nan Colton invites us to meet an artist or historical figure in a 30-minute presentation filmed live from the MFA and presented via Zoom. After the performance, there will be a Q&A session. Grab a cup of coffee and a morning snack, and enjoy from home!

Today’s program is entitled: Berthe Morisot – Giving Thanks

Berthe Morisot, as a female artist, was restricted to primarily depicting domestic settings, yet rose to become a leading Impressionist. She exhibited in all but one Impressionist show (due to the birth of her daughter Julie). Her body of work, more than 850 paintings, pastels and watercolors created during her short life, has in recent years been reconsidered as radical and innovative depictions of the inner lives of her subjects.

FREE for MFA Members; Not-yet members are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors.
