Collectors Circle Lecture: Dr. J. Michael Padgett

Dr. J. Michael Padgett, Curator of Ancient Art at the Princeton University Art Museum, will focus on ancient Greek art, including objects from the MFA’s collection.  This will be a homecoming of sorts for Dr. Padgett, as he was Curator of Classical Art at the Tampa Museum of Art from 1990-1992, immediately before moving to Princeton.

Dr. Padgett has also served as a curatorial assistant at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (1983-1984) and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (1986-1990).  He holds his B.A. from the University of Kentucky, his M.A. from the University of Minnesota, and his Ph.D. from Harvard University.  He is an expert on Attic vase-painting.

This is the second lecture in a series that features some of the world’s foremost art historians, curators, and collectors.  All lectures begin at 6:30 p.m.  These lectures are free with Museum admission for the general public.

Sponsored by: Northern Trust

From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., guests of the Museum will receive one complimentary cosmo with each paid admission. Courtesy of Catering by Lundy’s.
