Collectors Circle Lecture: Dr. John Rohrbach
“Color Photographs Are Not Art” is the intriguing title of Dr. John Rohrbach’s first lecture in the Tampa Bay area.
Dr. Rohrbach, Senior Curator of Photographs at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, will focus on the decades-long battle to gain artistic acceptance of color photography. He will also examine the consternation that met this acceptance when it finally arrived in the 1970s. His talk derives from his current project assembling the first comprehensive survey of American fine-art color photography.
This is the third and final lecture in a series that features some of the world’s foremost art historians, curators, and collectors. All lectures begin at 6:30 p.m. These lectures are free with Museum admission for the general public.
