Friends of Decorative Arts Lecture: Architecture and Furniture of Charles Rennie Mackintosh

Collector James Sweeny will explore the architecture and especially the furniture designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who moved from an Art Nouveau style to being a precursor of Art Deco.  His major project was the Glasgow School of Art in his native Scotland, a building way ahead of its time.  Mackintosh received a retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1997.

FODA programs and trips provide an ideal opportunity to make new friends.  Annual dues are $20, in addition to Museum membership.  To join, please contact Membership Coordinator Steve Hack at 727.896.2667, ext. 245, or steve@fine-arts.org.  Non-FODA members can attend programs for $5, plus MFA admission.
