Friends of Decorative Arts Lecture: Frank Lloyd Wright

Historian Mark Tlachac will introduce the decorative arts of Frank Lloyd Wright.  His lifelong passion for Wright’s architecture has led him to lecture, conduct tours, and oversee the visitors’ program at Florida Southern College in Lakeland.  That college has the largest collection of the architect’s buildings on a single site.  Wright wanted his clients to have a unified environment, not only the architecture, but also the landscaping, furniture, carpet, drapes, and dishes.  One of America’s greatest architects was also a talented decorative artist, though that aspect of his career is lesser known.

FODA programs and trips provide an ideal opportunity to make new friends.  Annual dues are $20, in addition to Museum membership.  To join, please contact Membership Coordinator Steve Hack at 727-896-2667, ext. 245, or steve@fine-arts.org.  Non-FODA members can attend programs for $5, plus MFA admission.
