Front-line Workers First Fridays

Front-line Workers First Fridays (FWFF) is a new program under our Picture of Health initiative to celebrate and recognize the outsize responsibility our community’s hospital and front-line health care workers have borne during this current pandemic. The physical and mental toll of caring for others while putting oneself at risk is often understood as an inherent risk, but current events have escalated both the risk and toll to unprecedented levels.

The MFA, with a renewed emphasis on wellness support for our community, is prepared to assist in alleviating some of these pressure points through our new program, which brings therapy dogs into the museum for a power session of levity and well-being for medical professionals. Every first Friday of the month, from 12-8 pm., front-line hospital staff and social workers are invited to visit the MFA, where Canine Care Teams will be available to participants. Canine Care Teams, consisting of a certified Therapy Dog and its care partner, will be in the Museum’s gardens to facilitate stress and anxiety relief. They’ll be here noon to 4 pm, so stop by to enjoy some self-care, healing, and cuddles. For inclement weather, we’ll relocate inside in the Conservatory.

Select the button below to reserve your time slot and ticket. Frontline workers, please use the discount code WOOF for complimentary admission, and present your employee badge at the front desk when you arrive. PLEASE NOTE: Non-frontline workers are encouraged to visit the museum, and enjoy this program, but we ask that you please purchase a ticket so that we may reserve free admission for our front-line health care workers.
