Gallery Talk on Jack Barrett: People Watching by Curator of Contemporary Art Katherine Pill and Louise Barrett

Katherine Pill developed the ongoing “Spotlight” series to showcase the work of gifted area artists. This select exhibition of work by Jack Barrett (1929-2008), who lived most of his adult life in St. Petersburg, is his first at the MFA. It has been organized with the invaluable help of his wife Louise Barrett, who will provide special insight into the artist’s approach, interests, and technique.

The MFA’s first Curator of Contemporary Art, Ms. Pill has already organized a number of cutting-edge exhibitions, most recently, Shana Moulton: Journeys Out of the Body, the young artist’s first solo museum show in the United States. She completed a three-year dual MA in art history, theory, and criticism and arts administration and policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

The Gallery Talk is free with MFA admission.
