A DMG Visiting Glass Artist Series
Sponsored by The DMG School Project
Nancy Callan and Laura Donnefer

Nancy Callan is influenced by the bright colors and inflated shapes found in comic books and toys. She received her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art. After taking a workshop at the Corning Museum of Glass with the gifted Italian artist Lino Tagliapietra, she moved to Seattle, became a member of the artist’s team, and has traveled the world as his assistant. In 2001, she received the coveted Creative Glass Center of America Fellowship at Wheaten Village in New Jersey.

Laura Donnefer has used glass as her primary medium for more than 30 years, combining it with diverse materials. Her work has been shown at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Japan, Museo de Vidrio in Mexico, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Museum of Art and Design in New York. She is president of the Glass Art Association of Canada and organizer of the “Glass Fashion Shows.” She studied at the Sheridan College School of Craft and Design.
