Bel canto is the art of beautiful singing and Norma is bel canto at its best.  Bellini wrote great musical  lines for his stars, full of extended coloratura phrases, beautiful melodies, and fiendishly difficult passages.  Some of opera’s most gorgeous duets are in this opera.  Maestro Sforzini  and the cast of Norma  will illustrate with powerful musical numbers the classic plot of the woman who is thrown over by the man of her dreams  when he falls for the younger, if not blonder, model.
