New Years Eve

The Museum of Fine Arts will be open New Year’s Eve day from 11 am until 5 pm for your viewing pleasure of our MFA collection and special exhibitions.  A few First Night events will take place on the MFA property and they include a radio broadcast  – “Let’s Talk Life”, hosted by Velva Heraty – from 5:45-6:45 pm next to the entrance to the MFA and dancing in front of the steps from 8 pm to 11:30 pm.

Here you can salsa, bachata, cha cha and meringue to the Little Latin Quarter with Simone Amaral who is one of Tampa Bay’s leading dance instructors. Tonight you can join her and DJ Manny to freshen up your step or learn the basic bachata and salsa dance. Simone Salsa will be offering 30 minute lessons in salsa, cha cha cha, merengue, salsa, and bachata with dancing in between. People are welcome to bring percussion instruments and play along. Lesson schedule: 8 pm salsa, 8:45 pm bachata, 9:30 pm cha cha cha, 10:15 pm merengue, 11pm salsa.

First Night buttons are on sale at the MFA Museum Store to attend the First Night events.
