Our America: Family Day

Experience the food, musical, and artistic traditions of the three largest Latino cultures represented in Our America: Mexican-American, Puerto Rican, and Cuban-American. Hands-on activities, live music, and food to buy and samples will be part of this vibrant day for people of all ages. The events and activities happening on Family Day are as follows:

10:30-11:30am: Drumming with the Drum Connection- Learn about and use traditional Latin American instruments.

11am-3pm: Make and Take activities: Decorate your own Calavera, make a Milagros, design a tile, and try screen printing.

11am-2pm: Learn about the ingredients and make your own salsa with La Nueva Cantina. Enjoy Cuban Sandwich samples by La Tropicana Cafe.

Noon-1pm: Enjoy a performance by Grupo Folklorico Mahetzi.

1:30-2:30pm: Take a salsa lesson from Eric Crespo, a Simone Salsa dance instructor.

Music throughout the day provided by DJ Pedro.

Free with MFA admission.
