CANCELED Pinellas County Center for the Arts Performs: Putting it Together
Art of the Stage: Picasso to Hockney is inspired largely by the spirit of collaboration. Collaboration is the backbone of the program at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School. Students in the highly acclaimed arts magnet come together on the museum stage to create pieces of theatre and music as part of their everyday instruction as well as their evening performances and senior projects. Putting It Together is a series of scenes and songs, many pulled from pieces in Art of the Stage: Picasso to Hockney, using two or more students who have the common goal of having their voices heard and make art happen. The numbers will be interspersed with quotes from artists who have contributed to the exhibition, culminating with Rise Up, a song based on the words of Susan B. Anthony.
