SUMMARY:Writer’s Workshop | Line/Break
DESCRIPTION:Line/Break is a workshop about why poets break a line—\nand what happens in the white space around it.  \nThrough close reading\, hands-on experimentation\, and a little deliberate destruction\, we’ll explore how a single shift in lineation can change the rhythm\, the meaning\, and the feeling of a poem entirely. Together with poet Ariana Matondo\, we’ll explore a range of techniques\, with plenty of time to write\, share\, and discover what’s working on the page. \nOpen to all experience levels. Just bring your journal and an open mind. \nIncludes admission to Art After Dark. Take in the atmosphere before or after the workshop\, wander the galleries\, and enjoy Café Clementine’s L’Apéro hours with a selection of beverages and savory and sweet bites. \nThur\, August 20\, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM\n$10 for MFA Members\n$20 for Not-Yet-Members \nREGISTER \nNot yet a member?\nBecome a member today and enjoy all the benefits membership at the MFA offers!  \nMFA Members enjoy free admission for an entire year\, early access to special exhibitions\, discounts at the MFA Shop and Café Clementine\, special member-only exclusive events\, and more. Bring the whole family! \nBECOME A MEMBER \n\nAriana Matondo\, poet\, editor\, and teacher  \n \nAriana Matondo (they/she) is a queer disabled Tanzanian-American poet\, editor\, and teacher based in Tampa\, Florida.
