SUMMARY:Painting in the Park 2026
DESCRIPTION:Painting in the Park is the MFA’s FREE annual community celebration of all things art! This year\, the beloved event returns with more activities\, community partners\, and opportunities for fun than ever before. \nFamilies\, friends\, and art lovers of all ages are invited to spend the day exploring 20+ colorful\, creative\, messy\, and marvelous art activities inspired by works from the museum’s collection. Activities are designed for everyone—from toddlers and teens to adults ready to rediscover their inner artist. \nParticipants will receive a Painting in the Park Discovery Passport to guide them to each station and earn a stamp as they complete each activity. Complete at least 10 activities throughout the day to win a special prize: FREE Family Admission to the MFA\, redeemable on the day of the event or on a future visit! \nActivities at this year’s event will include: \n\nEn Plein Air Painting inspired by Claude Monet\nA Paper Poppy Field inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe\nAn archaeology dig inspired by the Antioch Mosaics\nOp Art Drawings inspired by Victor Vasarely\nBracelet making inspired by Ancient Roman jewelry\nAnd more!\n\nThe fun continues with art-filled activities led by our friends at: \n\nClay Co-Op\nOverspray Art Space\nSt. Pete Ceramics\nTampa Bay Watch Discovery Center\nCurious Creations Co.\nAdditional community partners will be announced soon!\n\nEnjoy live entertainment\, along with delicious food and treats from local vendors. Operated by the nonprofit Tampa Bay Watch\, the center features hands-on exhibits\, live animal displays\, and a touch tank that allow visitors of all ages to engage directly with local wildlife and learn about the importance of environmental stewardship. Through daily programs\, educational activities\, and wildlife boat tours departing from the Pier\, the Discovery Center highlights ongoing efforts to restore Tampa Bay and inspires visitors to take an active role in preserving its waters for future generations. \n \nABOUT CURIOUS CREATIONS CO. \nAs a mom to two energetic boys\, Celine understands the importance of keeping little hands and minds engaged with fun\, screen-free activities. Offering classes\, workshops\, memberships\, and kiln-firing services\, the studio is equipped with pottery wheels\, hand-building tools\, and a full glaze lab to support both beginners and experienced makers.
