Every day at the MFA is filled with time exploring the galleries\, learning with MFA staff and other local experts\, creating art\, playing games\, and making new friends and memories.   \nPop\, cut\, smash\, create! Join us in the lab as we experiment with art-making and transform everyday items into extraordinary artworks. Find inspiration in the galleries as we learn about new artists each day from around the world and throughout history. All week long\, we’ll explore unique ways to create–from unusual materials to unexpected methods. Build\, break\, melt\, and shake your way through the artistic process as you bring your own artistic vision to life in the Art Lab! \nArt Lab is designed for the rising 6th to 8th graders. \nArt Lab Camp\nMonday\, July 28–Friday\, August 1\, 2025\n9:00 AM–4:00 PM\nThe cost for each art camp is $200 for MFA members and $275 for not-yet-members. This unique program invites visitors to embark on a journey that celebrates the awe-inspiring beauty of nature and the role it plays in sparking human creativity. Begin the afternoon at the MFA with a guided docent tour of the collection galleries\, looking closely at artworks from throughout history and across the globe that were inspired by nature. From majestic landscapes to delicate still lifes to ancient sculptures\, each artwork highlights the deep connection between artists and the natural world. \nThe experience continues at the St. Pete Pier\, where you’ll board a sunset cruise with Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center’s expert marine science educators. Enjoy guided wildlife watching\, a visit to a local bird sanctuary\, learning about our area’s history\, and the beautiful scenery as the sky changes colors over the downtown skyline. There will be optional opportunities to get creative\, with all supplies provided\, and you’re encouraged to express your inspiration from the experience. \nThis partnership highlights how each of us contributes to protecting Tampa Bay and the environment as a whole. SUMMARY:Sensory Saturday | Hands-On with Curious Creations Co.
DESCRIPTION:The MFA welcomes families with children with sensory sensitivities to explore the galleries on the 1st Saturday of every month\, from 10 am to 12 pm. During this time\, all rotating audio components will be turned down or muted to ensure a calm environment.  \nVisitors can also join our Sensory Saturday Hands-On program for activities filled with sensory play. Explore and experiment with non-toxic\, sensory-friendly materials in the Membership Garden. All ages are welcome\, though activities are generally geared towards ages 2-10. This month’s projects are inspired by the museum’s Mesoamerican collection; learn about jade\, learn dig up gems\, or make your own! When registering\, please select a time slot: either 10–11 am or 11 am–12 pm. \n  \nSensory Saturday at the MFA | Hands-On with Curious Creations Co.\nSaturday\, January 3\, 2026 \n10:00 AM–12:00 PM \nREGISTER FOR 10:00 AM-11:00 AM \nREGISTER FOR 11:00 AM-12:00 PM \nIf you would like to participate in the hands-on activities\, registration is required at $5 per person.
