They are also a recipient of the Sundress Publications Fellowship (2025)\, Vermont Studio Center Fellowship (2024)\, Light for Public Health Poetry Prize (2024)\, and the Bettye Newman Poetry Prize (2024-2025). Matondo has published and forthcoming works in Light Magazine\, Honey Literary Magazine\, The Common\, and more. Their most-often cited works are the Archive projects and the Last Library series\, in which rooms full of sculptural objects\, typically books and boxes\, become immersive sculptural supports for text. They have also made inhabited structures in which they lived and worked\, such as Flatland with Alex Schweder\, and have collaborated with artist collectives in Queens\, New York. \nThe text material in The Archives and Last Libraries reflect the artists interest in the plight of contemporary culture and how it has been shaped by mass media technologies and the needs of the powerful. Popular internet memes\, trendy political jingoism\, lost histories\, commercial slogans and notions of individualism are all in play. These pieces are designed for immersive browsing and reflection. No two person’s experiences will be the same. \nShelley and Paulson have exhibited together more than 25 times across the United States and Europe\, but centered in the New York area. Shelley also makes informational diagrams and inhabited performance architecture with Alex Schweder. A graduate of Florida Presbyterian College\, now Eckerd College\, Shelley splits his time between Connecticut and Florida. Douglas Paulson has years of experience working in the artist collective scene and teaches at Parsons\, New School University. He lives in Queens\, NY. \n  \n

During this time\, all rotating audio components will be turned down or muted to ensure a calm environment.  \nAlso\, join our Sensory Saturday Hands-On program for activities inspired by Yvette Mayorga’s The Magic Grasshopper\, displayed in front of the museum.  Explore and experiment with non-toxic\, sensory-friendly materials in the Membership Garden. Youʼll find him specializing in funk/soul\, hip hop and underground alternative.  \nEthan Fielder\, artist\nEthan Fielder earned his BFA in ceramics from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2019.  Hailing from Vermont\, he has worked in New England as a teacher\, production potter\, and muralist. From 2022 to 2024\, he was a resident artist at the Morean Center for Clay\, where he exhibited and honed his skills as a teacher and fine artist. In 2024\, he founded St. Pete Ceramics with his friend\, fellow clay artist\, and business partner Beth Miranda. They are currently rebuilding from the ground up at their warehouse arts district studio after a fire broke at the flagship location in January of this year.  Fielder will be exhibiting his signature Birds with Pants series at The Werk gallery this August as part of a benefit show to support the ongoing effort to rebuild. \nGio Cerro\, poet\nGio Cerro is a typewriter poet whose medium is a vintage typewriter. Gio’s Typos offers on-demand poetry\, commissioned writings\, random musings\, conversation\, provocative thoughts\, confidence boosts\, and one-of-a-kind frameable artwork typed on the spot\, tailored to the moment. \nJessica Miller | Baba Wyrd\nJessica Miller has been reading tarot and oracle cards for over a decade. She uses cartomancy as a tool to dig deeper\, explore the subconscious\, and examine our lives through a new lens.  She considers reading for others to be an honor\, and she sincerely appreciates the trust and curiosity of each person who visits her table. She reads tarot online and in person by appointment\, though you can also find her at various local markets and events around the Tampa Bay area. The duo performs throughout the United States and abroad\, with recent appearances at the Fundación Guitarra Viva tour in Chile; the esteemed Brevard Music Festival in North Carolina; the Canada West tour of Banff\, Edmonton and a one-week residency at Calgary’s GuitarFest West; Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Taxco\, Mexico; Christ Church Cathedral series\, Canada; Ticino Musica’s concerts in Lugano\, Switzerland; and the Houston Classical Guitar Festival and Competition. Hailed as “very versatile in terms of contrast and range of expression” (Classical Guitar Canada) with “masterful phrasing combined with technical precision” (ClassicalGuitar.org)\, Composer Gregory Sullivan Isaacs described Ibison’s impact as a performer in the Fort Worth Star Telegram as “Chad gave an incendiary performance. His approach was\, at the same time\, aggressive and intimate. He melded with the instrument\, and the result was brash\, expressive and technically secure.” Along with his critical acclaim\, Ibison has accumulated ten first place awards among his eighteen top prize wins at international guitar competitions including the Guitar Foundation of America\, JoAnn Falletta Concerto Competition and Boston’s New England Conservatory Guitarfest. He participates regularly at guitar festivals as a performer\, teacher and judge. Ibison resides in Austin\, where he is professor of guitar\, directs the ensemble at Austin Community College and maintains a private studio in Hyde Park.  \nJanet Grohovac\, guitar \nCanadian-American classical guitarist Janet Grohovac is a passionate performer and sought after instructor based in Austin\, Texas. She holds a doctor of musical arts degree and a master of music degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor of music degree from the University of Victoria\, British Columbia. As a dynamic concert artist\, recent performances include solo concerts for Austin Classical Guitar Society’s Salon and Cactus series\, the Central Valley’s Guitarraganza festival in California\, and Victoria Conservatory of Music’s Summer Guitar Academy in Canada. Grohovac has accumulated many top prize awards in competitions\, including first place as a soloist in Southern Guitar Competition and Northwest Guitar Competition and finalist in the international guitar competitions at Lone Star Guitar Festival and in Montreal\, Tennessee\, and Dallas. In addition to performing\, Grohovac is a professor and directs the guitar program at Concordia University. She also directed the guitar programs as professor at Huston-Tillotson University and Texas Lutheran University\, is invited regularly to teach masterclasses and adjudicate competitions at universities and guitar festivals throughout North America\, and has served as a clinician for the Lullaby Project through Carnegie Hall’s Musical Connections Program.

She holds a doctor of musical arts degree and a master of music degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor of music degree from the University of Victoria\, British Columbia. As a dynamic concert artist\, recent performances include solo concerts for Austin Classical Guitar Society’s Salon and Cactus series\, the Central Valley’s Guitarraganza festival in California\, and Victoria Conservatory of Music’s Summer Guitar Academy in Canada. Grohovac has accumulated many top prize awards in competitions\, including first place as a soloist in Southern Guitar Competition and Northwest Guitar Competition and finalist in the international guitar competitions at Lone Star Guitar Festival and in Montreal\, Tennessee\, and Dallas. In addition to performing\, Grohovac is a professor and directs the guitar program at Concordia University. Natalie credits her  relocation for opening a new world for her: that of American contemporary art and how it can alter the ways in  which we visualize and conceptualize the world.  \nNatalie earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the State University for Culture and Arts in St. Petersburg\,  Russia. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in philosophy and aesthetics in visual art from the Institute for  Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts\, headquartered in Maine (IDSVA). In her research\, she explores the  intersection of politics and cross-cultural art collaborations.  \nNatalie’s professional experience includes working as an international education and business consultant\,  art gallery owner\, and educator of arts and philosophy. She fuses confectionary labor with found images to explore the meaning of belonging. Mayorga holds an MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. \nMayorga’s most recent solo museum exhibition\, Dreaming of You\, was at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in 2023-24. In 2023\, Mayorga had her first major solo museum exhibition\, What a Time to Be\, at The Momentary\, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. DESCRIPTION:Families with children with sensory sensitivities are invited to explore the galleries during our Sensory Saturday. During this time\, all rotating audio components will be turned down or muted to ensure a calm environment. \nAlso\, join our Sensory Saturday Hands-On program for activities filled with sensory play.  Explore and experiment with non-toxic\, sensory-friendly materials in the Membership Garden. All ages are welcome\, though activities are generally geared towards ages 2-10. \nSensory Saturdays occur on the first Saturday of every month. \nSat\, June 6\, 10 AM – 12 PM\nIf you would like to participate in the hands-on activities\, registration is required at $5 per person. Only register those participating in sensory play.\nPlease select a time slot of either 10 AM – 11 AM or 11 AM – 12 PM. \nREGISTER FOR 10:00 AM-11:00 AM \nREGISTER FOR 11:00 AM-12:00 PM \nAll visitors must also purchase a museum admission ticket to have access to the galleries\,  as the activities will be in our Membership Garden within the museum.
