Photography from the Museum of Fine Arts’ collection comes alive through the art of the “Ekphrastic,” a literary interpretation of a piece of visual art.

During the 2019 Literary Carousel at the MFA, a special event held in partnership with Keep St. Pete Lit(an advocate for St. Petersburg’s literary community), local writers are paired with selected photos from the photographic collection at the Museum of Fine Arts. The hand-picked images receive the prose and poetry treatment, and these photographs along with their freshly created literary counterparts will be on display for the community to enjoy.
