This bronze figure of a seated Buddha displays Sukhodayan or Sukhotai period (13–14^th Century) features, like the Walking Buddha nearby. Seated in padmasana or lotus position, the Buddha rests one hand in his lap, while the other is on the right knee in the “earth-touching gesture:” Buddha is calling the Earth to witness the fact that he has triumphed good over evil.
