Family Programs

Enjoy exploring the Museum of Fine Arts as a family through regular monthly programs such as Kidding Around Yoga, Make & Take activities, as well as other annual events such as Painting in the Park which sees thousands of participants every year.

ART, MARINE SCIENCE & YOGA CAMP

This unique camp is led by certified children’s yoga teacher and marine scientist Katie Toth and features daily art projects, yoga classes, and marine science instruction. A different theme of marine ecology, conservation, and community service will highlight each day.  2019 Art, Marine Science, & Yoga Camp sessions are July 15-July 19 and July 29-August 2.  Enroll now for these popular camps.  Scholarships available via Creative Pinellas.


New SUMMER CAMP!  Wild Creations: Empowerment camp for young women

During this empowering and educational week, we will learn about traditional female roles, historical and contemporary female artists and others who have challenged these roles.  Rising 6th-9th graders who identify as female are invited to participate July 22-July 26 for a camp specifically catered to the empowerment of young women. Enrollment is ongoing and spaces are limited. Scholarships available via Creative Pinellas.

Explore a wealth of activities that introduce art to children in many different ways, including kite-flying, selfie-stations, water color painting and more. You can even try graffiti art on a bus. Fresh local snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. This is an annual event held on the last Sunday of April.


KIDDING AROUND YOGA

Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, January through November, 10 am to 11 am. Kidding Around Yoga utilizes the yoga poses or asanas creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (3 and older), but moms, dads, and grandparents are welcome! We all know that yoga is good for you and enhances flexibility, strength, coordination, and concentration. Practicing yoga along with your family and children creates a special bond. Please bring a towel or mat. $5 per person (admission to the MFA Collection Galleries is included*).


MFA MAKE & TAKE

Every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month, 11 am to 2 pm. Enjoy family time with your budding artists, from treasure hunts to arts and crafts. Create artwork inspired by works in the permanent collection and special exhibitions. See our online calendar for more details. This is a great way to introduce your children to art and its fun for you, too! Family-friendly docent tour at 11 am is also available. Free with Museum admission*. Support for these programs is provided by the City of St. Petersburg Cultural Arts Grant.
