St. Petersburg will be shining the spotlight on its vibrant arts and cultural scene with a one-day celebration of the arts, the annual ArtsAlive 2016 Free Museum Day on Saturday, September 24. The MFA is also a partner with the Smithsonian on this same day, which is called Museum Day Live!

For this once-a-year event, admission is free to your several area museums and cultural attractions in the City of St. Petersburg, which is ranked the #1 arts destination among mid-size cities, was named America’s Top 2013 ArtPlace, and was named the No. 1 top 10 town for craft lovers in 2015.

As your community Museum, the MFA will once again open its doors to the public and The ArtsAlive/Free Museum Day hours at the MFA are 10 am to 3 pm.  The MFA Cafe will serve lunch from 11 am to 3 pm and the Museum Store will have a wide range of unique, artistic gifts for your shopping pleasure.

Drumming will be held from 10:30-11:30 am in the Membership Garden and AARP staff will be present for a hands-on activity outside of the Great Hall entrance.
