Stimulate your family’s imagination and inspire a love of art from around the world as you explore our museum together!
All ages
Sensory Saturdays
The MFA welcomes families with children who have sensory processing disorder and other sensory-related disabilities to explore the galleries with us each month! During this time, all rotating audio components will be turned down or muted to ensure a calm environment.
Second Saturdays, 10 am to 12 pm. Free for members, through Museums for All, or with the cost of admission.
All ages welcomed, geared toward grades k-6
homeschool hours
Homeschool groups and families are invited to join us the last Wednesday of the month as we look at the culture, history, math, and science of art! Every month will explore a new idea or exhibition, and visitors will receive a pre-packaged learning bag with a guide and activity.
Last Wednesdays, 10 am to 12 pm. Spots are limited, advanced registration is recommended. Free for members, through Museums for All, or with the cost of admission.

Ages 2-5
Museum Minis
Come and play at the MFA! Museum minis invites children ages 2 to 5 years old and their favorite grownups to join us in the galleries for stories, games, songs, and art. From shapes to colors and artists to animals, there is always something fun to discover. Inspire your little learner’s imagination as you explore our collection in a brand new way together.

Explore More! Days
Join us throughout the year for special days of fun! Visitors will receive a pre-packaged exploration bag with an activity guide and game. Each Explore More! Day features a special exhibition, so you can explore a new world of art every time!
Select Saturdays, 11 am to 2 pm. Free for members or with the cost of admission.

Painting in the Park is our annual outdoor celebration of all things art. It’s colorful, creative, messy, and more! With a wide variety of hands-on activities inspired by the MFA Collection, the whole family will experience the art inside the museum in a brand new way.
