Simmer and Sift: Il Ritorno
Back by popular demand…Simmer & Sift! Culinary masterpieces brought to life at the MFA, combining creative culinary skills with delicious demonstrations. In a small group setting, interact with the area’s most popular chefs and taste their creations. Supporting the arts can be so delicious!
From the James Beard House to Central Ave, the lauded husband-wife team of Dave and Erica Benstock bring their modern take on Italian classics to the MFA. Chef David worked his way through the ranks at various restaurants, eventually running front line at Wolfgang Puck Spago in Colorado. A sharp focus on Italian cuisine at Fontainebleau Scarpetta in Miami ultimately led Chef David to put his own unique twist on traditional dishes. Upon returning to St. Pete, the fresh Italian cooking style that Il Ritorno is known for was born.
The event will begin at 6pm with guest check-in and signature cocktail, followed by a demonstration with Chef Benstock. You’ll witness the demo, get a signature cocktail, dine on the results, and receive a recipe card so you can make your own masterpieces at home! Cash bar will also be available.
- Seafood salad – charred octopus, lobster, grilled pickled shrimp, smoked heart of palm puree, charred carrots, micro celery
- Oxtail agnolotti – beet, parsley dust, citrus marigold, fermented fresnos
- Lemon honey cake – kumquat gelato, preserved kumquat, caramelized honey, crispy vanilla
