CANCELLED: After Dark: An Evening of Songs and Arias

Marly Music presents
After Dark: An Evening of Songs and Arias

Join the “golden and radiant” (Opera News) soprano Susan Hellman Spatafora and the “powerful” bass Andrew Potter for After Dark: An Evening of Songs and Arias, an hour-long recital in which the singers explore characters who reveal their true selves only in the cloak of darkness. Together with pianist Robin Stamper, Spatafora, whose voice has been described as “perfect, yearningly optimistic,” and Potter, with his “powerful bottomless bass voice” (Broadway World), perform late-night scenes from Verdi’s La Forza del Destino and Carlisle Floyd’s opera Susannah, evening art songs by Florence B. Price, Herbert Hughes and Richard Strauss, and musical theater favorites from Les Miserables and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Carousel.
