Embracing the essence of springtime, the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg proudly announces the much-awaited return of Art in Bloom, a vibrant celebration blending art and nature. From Thursday, April 10 to Sunday, April 13, visitors are invited to indulge in the breathtaking beauty of floral interpretations inspired by masterpieces from the MFA Collection.

This annual tradition brings together a diverse array of floral designs created by a mix of seasoned professionals, talented hobbyists, and esteemed members of The Margaret Acheson Stuart Society. Each arrangement offers a unique perspective, breathing new life into iconic artworks and inviting viewers to see them through fresh eyes. Art in Bloom is presented annually by the Margaret Acheson Stuart Society and the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.

Floral Designer Tour with Cassie Osterloth

Take a stroll in the galleries with a floral designer as they give a tour interpreting and highlight the work of their fellow designers. In these tours, the florists will guide you through their process and intentions behind these unique and specially made arrangements. Be one of the first to get a behind-the-scenes look at these designs the talent that went behind them. The tour will include the florist going from one gallery to the next to share, contemplate, and embrace the visions of these artists.

Flowers After Hours “Midnight in the Garden”

Step into an enchanting evening at the Museum of Fine Arts as you join us for “Midnight in the Garden.” Your night begins by previewing the galleries filled with stunning floral interpretations at 5:30 pm, followed by a cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres and an open bar from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the beautiful Marly Room and Gardens. Enjoy upbeat and sultry sounds of the talented Sierra Davis as you mingle and sip cocktails. Experience the magic of “Midnight in the Garden” with art, exquisite floral interpretations, live music, and delightful refreshments.

Art in Bloom | Kimono & Ikebana featuring Jeanne Houlton and Dr. Stanton Thomas

Join us for a captivating live demonstration by renowned ikebana specialist Jeanne Houlton as she showcases the delicate art of Japanese flower arrangement. As Jeanne creates her arrangement, MFA Chief Curator, Dr. Stanton Thomas, will share insights into the fascinating connections between ikebana and our latest special exhibition Kimono: The Triumph of Japanese Dress.

“Garden of Roses” Luncheon

Immerse yourself in the beauty of spring with The Stuart Society at our Art In Bloom “Garden of Roses” Luncheon at the picturesque St. Petersburg Yacht Club and meet our special speaker, extraordinary floral designer Danielle Dall’Armi Hahn, whose 15-acre rose farm in California is the epitome of floral artistry. Danielle will share stories about her farm, her roses, and her design process while creating a breathtaking arrangement of fresh roses from her own fields. Junior Bloomers: Youth Floral Arrangement Workshop

Young artists are invited to join us as we explore the vibrant world of floral design! This hands-on workshop encourages aspiring florists to express their creativity as they make their own floral arrangements inspired by artworks in the MFA Collection. Participants will learn basic floral arrangement techniques and create a spring-inspired masterpiece to take home.

Workshop recommended for students in grades 1 – 6. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration required.
