HELPFUL TIPS FOR PLANNING YOUR VISIT TO THE MFA
Welcome to the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg. As you plan your visit, please keep in mind that we all share a responsibility in creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Take a moment to review the guidelines below to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience at the MFA.
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
- Tickets may be purchased online or at the museum.
- Help us preserve the art – please do not touch the objects on display.
- Non-commercial photography is encouraged in the galleries (unless otherwise designated for special exhibitions or artworks) without the use of a flash or a tripod. Professional photography is not permitted without advanced written consent from the Museum (additional fees may apply).
- Cell phone calls are not permitted in the galleries. Should you need to make or receive a call, please step into one of our gardens or our lobby.
- Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Smoking is not allowed in the Museum or on the Museum Campus, including the gardens.
- Outside food and drinks are not permitted, and absolutely no food and drinks are allowed in the galleries. Drinking fountains are available.
- Café Clementine is open Wednesday–Sunday from 9:00 am–3:00 pm with both indoor and outdoor seating.
- The MFA keeps the galleries between 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit, with approximately 50% humidity. Please plan your attire accordingly.
ACCESSIBILITY AT THE MFA
All MFA facilities comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Wheelchairs are available. The Museum offers special days for families with sensory sensitivities on the second Saturday of the month. ASL-interpreted tours are available but require at least three weeks of advanced notice. EnChroma Color-Blind glasses are available to those who have Color Vision Deficiency. Please see a member of our Visitor Services team to utilize these special glasses during your visit. BATHROOMS
The MFA has ADA-accessible restrooms, men’s, women’s, and gender-neutral restrooms. Changing tables are available in select restrooms.
COATS, BAGS, AND PACKAGES
Coat and bag check is available; large bags (more than 11×15 inches) are not permitted; and no baby backpacks or children on shoulders.
FIRST AID
Inform the nearest Security Officer or Museum Experience Associate if you require first aid while in the Museum.
GROUP TOURS

HOURS
The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and select Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Museum is closed on Monday. Café Clementine is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please visit our Hours and Admission page for any special hours or closures.

PARKING
Paid self-parking is available in our south lot and along the east side of the building (on Bayshore Drive). Visitors may enter the Museum at the Bayshore Drive or Beach Drive entrance. Meters take cash, credit cards, or Parkmobile. You can also download the Parkmobile parking app for use at designated metered spaces within the City of St. Petersburg and some surface lots and parking garages. There are also multiple parking garages and surface parking lots within walking distance.
PUBLIC TOURS
Docent-led public tours take place every Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm. Docents are also available in the galleries most weekend mornings and weekday afternoons. Check with a member of our Visitor Services team to see if a docent is available during your visit.
SKETCHING
Sketching with dry media (pencil only) is welcome in the galleries. Copyists working with wet media must obtain permission. Sketching stools are available upon request. While sketching, please do not hinder visitor traffic flow in the galleries. During high attendance periods, the Museum reserves the right to make any necessary adjustments to this sketching policy.
STROLLERS
Strollers are permitted in most areas – inquire at the Information Desk for gallery limitations. Oversize and jogging strollers are prohibited.
PLEASE NOTE: Visitors to the MFA may be photographed, videotaped, or otherwise recorded. By attending, you grant the MFA permission to use photographs and/or audiovisual recordings in which you appear for archival, documentary, publicity, advertising, or other purposes.
