Ashley Thunder: Opera in the Gallery
Come enjoy a vocal and visual avant-garde experience inside the special exhibition, Art of the Stage: Picasso to Hockney! Enjoy the clash of natural elegance and female rebellion, with selections from French and Russian composers. Featuring two great area musicians: operatic talent Ashley Thunder and pianist virtuoso Violet Mandese! A highlight will be Les Mamelles de Tiresias, a spectacular song of women’s liberation and the ability to let their voices be heard.
Ashley Thunder has performed with the St. Pete Opera Company, Matinee Opera Players, Anna Maria Island Orchestra & Chorus, New Port Richey Community Orchestra, Central Florida Lyric Opera, Dunedin Concert Band and the Dusseldorf Lyric Opera. She recently performed the roles of Frasquita in Carmen, Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro and The First Lady in The Magic Flute.
The performance will be accompanied and inspired by the theatrical art of Pablo Picasso, David Hockney and many more.
