Every 3rd Thursday of the month, join us for a live virtual Cocktails & Collections event featuring art from the MFA’s special exhibitions and collection galleries. Make an art-inspired signature cocktail ahead of time (we’ll provide the recipe), and enjoy a specially curated art tour from home!

Dr. Michael Bennett, Senior Curator of Early Western Art at the MFA

Michael Bennett received his doctorate in Fine Arts (Art History) from Harvard University in 1994. He served as Keeper of the Coins (Curator of Ancient Coins) in the Department of Ancient Art, Harvard University, from 1989-1994. From 1995-1998 he was curator of Classical Art at the Tampa Museum of Art. For the next two decades (1998-2018), he was curator of Greek and Roman Art at the Cleveland Museum of Art and is now senior curator of Early Western Art at the MFA, St. Petersburg. He has written many publications, including From Chaos to Order: Greek Geometric Art from the Sol Rabin Collection, the catalogue for the exhibition of the same name published by the MFA in 2020.
