
FoP: Reception with Photographer Brian Oglesbee
In honor of the opening of the exhibition Five Decades of Photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, the Friends of Photography will host a private reception featuring refreshments and an informal talk with the gifted photographer Brian Oglesbee directly following the gallery talk by Chief Curator Jennifer Hardin. Oglesbee’s engaging large scale photograph Water Series 37 will be included in the exhibition. In addition to the MFA, his photographs are in the collections of the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film, Brooklyn Museum, Tampa Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and many others. A former photography professor at Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y. and teacher at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, N.Y., Oglesbee has been featured in one-person exhibitions in galleries throughout the world, beginning as early as 1982.
