
Field Trip and Tour – Polk Museum of Art

In the morning, we will visit the Polk Museum of Art, a Smithsonian Affiliate in nearby Lakeland, FL. This museum is home to decorative arts from all around the globe, and has strong concentration in European works from the 15th to 19th centuries. In the afternoon, we will tour the unique architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright at the Florida Southern College campus.
Transportation by bus is included; lunch is the responsibility of the attendee.
Schedule:
9:00 am – Depart from MFA
10:15 am – Tour of the Decorative Arts Collection at the Polk Museum of Art
11:30 am – Lunch (not included) – Restaurant TBD but also feel free to pack a lunch!
1:00 pm – Tour of Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture at Florida Southern College
3:00 pm – Depart Florida Southern College
4:00 pm – Arrive at MFA

The Museum’s affiliated support group, Friends of Decorative Arts (FODA) expands understanding of the variety and beauty of the decorative arts. Plus, you will make new friends at the meetings. Annual dues are $50 in addition to a minimum of a Dual Level Museum membership. FODA programs are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 2:00 pm during season.
