Scholar Talk | Professor Cristina Acidini from the Fondazione Roberto Longhi

Join us opening weekend of In Caravaggio’s Light | Baroque Masterpieces from the Fondazione Roberto Longhi for an illuminating lecture presented by Professor Cristina Acidini from the distinguished institution behind this exhibition. This rare opportunity offers audiences an insider’s view into the origins, scholarship, and cultural significance of the extraordinary works on display, including Caravaggio’s Boy Bitten by a Lizard.

This lecture will delve into the legacy of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, the revolutionary techniques and emotional realism that defined the Baroque style, and the vision of Roberto Longhi, the 20th-century art historian and collector whose groundbreaking research helped reestablish Caravaggio’s place in the art historical canon.
