Art, Love and Life in the VillageWeegee's Wild New York
November 5, 2005 through January 22, 2006
This series of photographs from notorious crime scene photographer Weegee captures the lively and artistic spirit of Greenwich Village in the 1960s, including a shot snapped of the legendary James Dean. The Museum is fortunate to be one of two institutions to possess the entire set. A generous gift of Dr. Robert L. and Chitranee Drapkin, this is the first time these photographs have been exhibited together at the Museum.
