MFA COLLECTORS CIRCLE
LEADERSHIP IN ART, LEGACY IN ACTION
A CURATED COMMUNITY OF PHILANTHROPIC LEADERS
The Collectors Circle is a focused philanthropic pathway within the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg’s leadership community, designed for art enthusiasts and collectors seeking a deeper, more meaningful connection to the Museum and its permanent collection. United by a shared passion for art and cultural stewardship, members engage directly with curators, artists, and fellow patrons while playing an active role in shaping the MFA’s artistic future.
Through intentional programming, learning, and access, the Collectors Circle offers a refined pathway for those who wish to move beyond traditional museum support and participate thoughtfully in the growth and evolution of the collection. As stewards of the MFA’s artistic legacy, members embody our guiding principle: Leadership in art, legacy in action.
WHY THE COLLECTORS CIRCLE MATTERS NOW
The MFA is entering an exciting new chapter—defined by renewed curatorial vision, strengthened exhibitions, and bold institutional ambition. The Collectors Circle provides a meaningful philanthropic vehicle at this pivotal moment, offering patrons a clear and impactful way to engage with the Museum’s long-term artistic direction.
By focusing specifically on acquisitions and collection-building, the Collectors Circle reconnects supporters with one of the Museum’s most enduring responsibilities: ensuring that the collection continues to grow, evolve, and resonate with future generations.
HOW THE COLLECTORS CIRCLE FITS WITHIN MFA PHILANTHROPY
The Collectors Circle is a specialized curatorial pathway within Visionaries, the MFA’s leadership giving community.
- Visionaries support the full life and mission of the Museum through leadership-level annual giving.
- Collectors Circle members are Visionaries who choose to deepen their engagement by focusing specifically on the permanent collection and
acquisitions.
This structure allows members to support the Museum broadly while also participating directly in one of its most mission-critical functions.
ENGAGEMENT & BENEFITS
Collectors Circle members enjoy exclusive opportunities designed to foster insight, dialogue, and meaningful
connection:
- Curator-led conversations exploring collection priorities and acquisition strategy
- Private collection, studio, and behind-the-scenes visits
- Elevated social and educational gatherings with fellow collectors and patrons
- Priority invitations to select MFA programs and events
- Participation in an annual vote on curator-nominated artworks under consideration for acquisition
Each experience is intentionally designed to be intimate, thoughtful, and aligned with members’ interests—emphasizing quality over quantity and relationship over transaction.
SHAPING THE MFA’S LEGACY
Collectors Circle contributions directly support the growth and stewardship of the MFA’s permanent collection. Through collective investment and informed participation, members help ensure that new works entering the collection reflect artistic excellence, curatorial rigor, and the Museum’s long-term vision.
In its inaugural year, the Collectors Circle aims to bring together a small cohort of committed patrons whose combined support will meaningfully advance acquisition efforts while strengthening unrestricted annual resources for the Museum.
