TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR GROUP VISITS & TOURS
To ensure the best experience for all guests and the safety of our collection, all groups must adhere to the following policies:
1. Authorized Guiding & Third-Party Vendors
To maintain the integrity of our educational mission and the safety of our galleries, the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg (MFA) strictly regulates guided activity:
- Exclusive Guiding Rights: The Museum maintains the exclusive right to provide guided tours and lectures within the galleries. Only Museum-authorized staff and trained docents are permitted to lead tours or deliver formal commentary.
- Third-Party Resale Prohibited: Group Rates are intended for community, school, and professional organizations. Purchasing group tickets for the purpose of reselling them at a premium as part of a "private tour," "lecture series," or "expert-led study" by an outside entity is strictly prohibited.
- Unauthorized Lecturing: External educators, including subject matter experts or independent lecturers, may not conduct formal tours or guided sessions in the galleries without prior written authorization and a separate Commercial Partner Agreement.
- Enforcement: Unauthorized commercial guiding or the resale of tickets for profit will result in the immediate removal of the group from the premises without a refund and may bar the organizer from future bookings.
2. Booking and Arrival
- Unified Payment: To qualify for group rates, payment must be made in a single transaction by the Group Coordinator.
- Minimum Attendance: If your group size falls below the required minimum (10 for students, 15 for adults) on the day of the visit, the group rate is void and standard individual admission rates will apply.
- Late Arrivals: Groups arriving more than 15 minutes late for a Docent-Led tour may have their tour shortened or transitioned to a self-guided visit.
-
Chaperone Responsibility: Chaperones must remain with their student groups at all times and are responsible for the group's conduct.
-
Gallery Flow: To prevent congestion, the MFA reserves the right to pace the entry of large groups.
-
Volume: We ask that all group discussions be kept at a conversational volume to respect other visitors. Portable amplification systems are not permitted.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
-
All Docent Fees are non-refundable.
-
For Self-Guided groups, while pre-payment is not required, we request 48 hours' notice for cancellations.
-
In the event of a museum-initiated closure, the MFA will work with the Group Coordinator to reschedule the visit or provide a full refund.
