COVID-19: Health and Safety Updates

As always, the health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff are the single most important consideration for the Museum of Fine Arts.  We are temporarily closed to the public, effective Saturday, March 14, in response to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The MFA’s priority is to protect and support our visitors, staff, and volunteers, and we have implemented several proactive precautionary measures, including implementing rigorous cleaning routines, and staying in close communication with local government and health officials.

We are committed to being a safe community space by bringing the MFA to you virtually, and offering an escape for peace, pleasure, and joy. Through our Museum from Home experiences, youth activities, and our Happenings email newsletters, we are continuing to share the beauty of our museum and collection with you. We’re sharing your museum with the world every day on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (@mfastpete). Please stay connected to us online and let us know what you’d like to see and learn, as we continue to use these platforms to fulfill our mission.

Although galleries are closed to the public, we are still hard at work to bring you the highest quality exhibitions, community outreach, and public programs and look forward to when it is safe to reopen. As a nonprofit arts organization, your ongoing contributions are vital to us. Please continue your support of the MFA with a gift of any amount today.

Our team will continue to monitor the situation daily. Stay well, stay connected to us, and we look forward to soon announcing when we’ll be able to welcome our staff and visitors back to the Museum.
