Baroque Unbound | Immersive Opera with Nathan Felix

Thu, February 5, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

For one night only, the MFA presents an original immersive opera in partnership with acclaimed composer Nathan Felix. Inspired by exhibition, In Caravaggio’s Light, this site-specific performance will unfold across the museum’s campus, guiding audiences through the galleries on a layered emotional and musical journey that brings the drama and theatricality of the Baroque to life.

Known for his groundbreaking immersive operas, Felix brings his signature blend of historical depth and contemporary urgency to this new work. Through this exclusive performance, he reimagines the Baroque through a modern lens, exploring the emotions of guilt, loyalty, identity, and spiritual reckoning. Vocalists and musicians perform live throughout the museum, surrounding audiences with sound, guiding them through the performance, and making visitors part of the experience.

Don’t miss this extraordinary, one-night-only event, where the performers, the galleries, and the audience intertwine to create an unforgettable evening.
