Portraiture is one of the oldest genres in art history! Learn about the many portraits at the MFA, including generals, gods and goddesses, and everyday people. Then, create your own portrait of you, a friend or a family member. This event takes place at the James Weldon Johnson Library.
Families with children with sensory sensitivities are invited to explore the galleries during our Sensory Saturday. During this time, all rotating audio components will be turned down or muted to ensure a calm environment. Also, join our Sensory Saturday Hands-On program for activities filled with sensory play, where we’ll focus on the basic elements of art: shapes, colors and more.
