Summer Camps at the MFA: Art Lab
Join the MFA for a week of experimenting in the art lab. Each day-camp will center around a different theme. Families can choose to sign up for just one day, or more! Choosing the Art Lab Package of all 5 days, opposed to purchasing all single days, factors in a discount.
The Art Lab camp is designed for ages 11-13.
Scholarships may be available through the St. Pete Arts Alliance’s Funding Futures Program for eligible students ages 10–17 to attend summer camps, including MFA Art Lab. Learn more here.
Summer Camps at the MFA: Art Lab
Monday, July 27–Friday, July 31, 2026
9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Day Price: $55 MFA Members, $65 Not-Yet-Members | Week Price: $240 MFA Members, $290 Not-Yet-Members
• Day 1 – Creative Canvases | July 27th
Get ready to paint! We’ll explore the types of paintings throughout history in the Museum’s collection to inspire our own painting styles.
• Day 2 – Upcycled Artmaking | July 28th
Using recyclable materials and found objects, we will make their own mini
art museums and other projects to explore how everyday items can be
repurposed to make art.
• Day 3 – Printmaking | July 29th
Learn the various ways you can make art prints. We’ll make unique block
prints, cyanotypes, and even prints stamped from Lego pieces!
• Day 4 – Art and Archaeology | July 30th
Learn to create artworks like ancient artists- discovered through digging up
history. We’ll excavate, document, and leave our own time capsule for future
campers to discover in the future!
• Day 5 -Science and Art Exploration | July 31st
Experiment with the elements of art and science to challenge your creativity
in artmaking. Join us to learn a bit of chemistry, paper circuits, and color
theory.
