Line/Break is a workshop about why poets break a line—and what happens in the white space around it. Through close reading, hands-on experimentation, and a little deliberate destruction, we’ll explore how a single shift in lineation can change the rhythm, the meaning, and the feeling of a poem entirely.
Inspired by the vibrant, maximalist works of contemporary artist Yvette Mayorga, whose paintings emulate elaborate buttercream piping through richly layered acrylic paint, this workshop invites participants to explore the decorative language of cake artistry. Guided by a skilled cake decorator from Emerald Flour, you'll learn foundational buttercream piping techniques before transforming your own 4-inch mini cake into an edible work of art.
