Kirkpatrick and Mace met at Pilchuck Glass School in 1979 and have worked together ever since.  Both assisted Dale Chihuly.  Having explored a variety of subjects, they are known for their gigantic fruit; some made singly, and others assembled like an oversized still life.  Many are painted naturalistically using colored powdered glass applied during the blowing process.  A smaller number of them are clear, and blown with variously designed and colored zanfirico canes, as in this buoyant example
